Brief History of Buena Park-
The city of Buena Park is the center of the southland. Manuel Nieto was given a land grant by Pedro Vargas. This land extended from the San Gabriel River to the Santa Ana River. In 1834, Manuel Nieto’s land was divided into five ranchos. One of the ranchos totaled 48,806 acres and was named Rancho Los Coyotes. The city of Buena Park is located near the center of this rancho. The outcome of the Mexican War, which lasted from (1846-48) was settled in this area.

In 1885, James A Whitaker bought 690 acres of the rancho, he had other intentions for the land, but officials convinced him to use the land for a new town. In 1887, Mr. Whitaker filed papers for a township and the town of Buena Park was born. It wasn’t until 1953 until Buena Park was incorporated into Orange County.

Buena Park’s main attraction is Knott’s Berry Farm and Knott’s soak city, located on Beach Blvd in the Entertainment Zone. Other attractions on the Entertainment Zone include, Medieval Times, Ripley’s “Believe It or Not”, and the Movieland Wax Museum, in Buena Park, CA.
